Malla Reddy College of Engineering has been in the field of Engineering for the past 16 years with the intention of spearheading quality education among children from the school level itself. MRCE has a well-established training and placement cell.

The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.

We have been successful in maintaining our high placement statistics over the years and the fact that our students bear the recession blues with record breaking placements itself is a testimony to our quality. Our ingenious alumnae have set new standards in the corporate world through their estimable contributions, and it is my firm conviction that we will continue that legacy in the years to come.

The Placement Cell organizes career guidance programmes for all the students starting from first year. The cell arranges training programmes like Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Communication Skills Workshop etc and it also organizes Public Sector Exam Training for students who are interested to join Government Sectors.

It also invites HR Managers from different industries to conduct training programmes for final year students.

Malla Reddy College of Engineering offers career guidance and placement on all aspects of career planning, job searching, and post-graduate studies. The college provides individual counseling for all students toward reaching goals.

A. Availability of career guidance facilities:
  • The college has a career guidance and placement cell headed by a Training and Placement Officer and a Team of Coordinators and Student coordinators
  • The team fine-tunes the students by providing insights into the complex dynamics of the corporate world and the current critical industrial & business scenarios.
  • Campus Recruitment Training (CRT) program grooms the students in various areas like Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, Reasoning Ability, Group Discussion, Personality Development, Attitude and Behavioural Development, and Facing Interviews.
  • Certified Trainers are deputed to take sessions on Verbal, Written, and listening skills to ensure our students are well-trained in Business English Communication
  • Domain and technical training are provided based on the industry requirement
  • Mock interviews and GDs are conducted on a regular basis to equip final and prefinal students to face the challenges of the recruitment scenario.
  • The placement cell organizes on-campus and off-campus recruitments.
  • In addition to the training conducted by the placement division the department organizes training on technical aspects like Data Structures, Java, C, C++, and Python.
  • Developing the students to meet the Industries recruitment process.
  • To motivate students to develop Technical knowledge and soft skills in terms of career planning, goal setting.
  • To motivate students aspire for higher studies and guiding them to take competitive exams such as CAT, GATE, TOEFL, GRE, IES, UPSC, TNPSC etc.
  • Aiming to Place the maximum number of students through on-campus & off-campus interviews conducted by the top companies.

B. The college also has a placement committee that ensures that the needs of the students belonging to different branches of engineering are addressed and all are given equal opportunities.

C. The Roles and Responsibilities of the Committee
  • To conduct research regarding the skills, abilities, and credentials employers seek from graduates and also to find relevant job titles and industries for graduates.
  • To help students create their resumes and cover letters, find internship or externship sites, and apply for jobs in their fields.
  • To arrange for mock interviews to give students practice answering common questions and provide information about companies hiring in the area.
  • To develop strong rapport with employers and develop local partnerships with companies where students can do internships or externships or visit for job shadowing. And also to recommend students to these employers after they learn necessary skills.
  • To schedule hiring events like job fairs which gives students exposure to potential jobs and helps local companies find suitable candidates.
  • To Ensure students availability for all campus recruitment events.
  • To participate in pre-placement presentations conducted by companies.
  • To participate in exit meetings at the end of each company recruitment events and to implement suggestions regard to grey areas as mentioned in the feedback in the departmental activities.
  • To coordinate with each Department regarding aptitude, soft skills and domain related training activities to students.
  • To Visit companies for presenting Department’s quality and talent pool availability.
  • To arrange for domain related training and re-training activities based on companies’ feedback

D. Pre-Placement Training
The process involves
  • Identification and grooming of capable students for a particular domain.
  • Arranging Training Sessions from industry resources regularly.
  • Counselling the students having less attendance in trainings.
  • Interacting with students regularly for inputs on training.
  • Maintaining the attendance of the students and sharing the same with Department Mentors to call.
  • Ensuring students learn English essentials/business communication as a subject.
  • Arranging Aptitude Development training sessions for all programs.
  • Soft skills development sessions are scheduled for all programs.
  • Arranging Technical and domain-related sessions and the topics will vary from one programme to another programme.
  • All circuit departments are taught with basic programming subjects, C, DS etc. Non-circuit programmes students are trained with the Programming language, core subjects, and the highlight would be fundamentals of Electronics Engg, Mechanical Engg.

E. Career counselling for higher studies
  • Career guidance and motivational lectures by Alumni, External guests and faculty are organized frequently.
  • Organizing coaching classes for competitive exams the departments organize coaching classes for GATE and other competitive examinations.
  • The placement cell organizes seminars on higher studies and conduct aptitude training sessions.
  • Many books and periodicals are available in the library for the students.
  • Skill development (Spoken English, Computer Literacy etc.) Communicative English has been incorporated into the curriculum.
  • The English Language communication lab with a capacity of 60 consoles has been set up with innovation.

F. Counselling for higher studies (GATE/GRE, GMAT etc)
  • Students who are looking for a change and want to get a self-direction are counselled so that they can explore and make an incredible career by opting for higher studies like an MBA or M. Tech in their field or related fields.
  • Students are shared with opportunities available by managing talks by Colleges Counselling is also organized related to the various examinations like GATE/GRE/UPSC/PSC etc. that help students get job opportunities in Public/Private Sector Industries, Government Jobs, Defense sector or obtain higher degrees abroad.
  • Counselling sessions are organized related to Masters in abroad by various consultancy.

G. The broad areas at the training and placement cell
  • At the time of campus recruitment, it is mandatory for students to be present in the formal dress.
  • For pre-placement talks (PPT), students should be present at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time at the venue.
  • Canvassing with the company personnel may disqualify the candidature.
  • For any queries, students should contact the T&P cell only.
  • The data bank on the student’s profiles is maintained by the cell and campus recruitment will be done by the respective T&P. The interested students submit their CV directly to the T&P Cell, which will be used for this purpose.
  • For any queries/problems, the students should first discuss with the T&P cell, if necessary.
  • A nice ambiance should be maintained by the students during the Placements/Recruitment programme.
  • Our main focus is to get at least one job to the register student. However the condition of second job will depend upon the situation and the response of the company.
  • Those students who do not wish to participate in any recruitment process, must informed to the T&P office in advance, so as to give opportunity to other students.
  • T&P Co-ordinator has to be present throughout the recruitment process in T&P Office, for smooth conduction of interview.
  • The training activities and career willingness is selected by the students in their third year itself.
  • The students are given exposure to various career options with the help of informative sessions conducted by Internal counsellors and Industry experts from across various fields.
  • In addition to the dedicated facilities for placements, efforts are also made to ensure students are given awareness about Higher Studies as an education option.
  • The students are made to interact with industry personnel and thereby ensuring exposure to students and enabling them to make a self-aware decision.

H. Objectives of the Training and Placement Cell
  • Provide information about various career options available to the students.
  • Conduct a survey among students on their career options.
  • Organize programs and to create awareness about the importance of higher studies in India and abroad.
  • Organize diagnostic tests for the competitive exams such as CAT, GRE, and GMAT and to counsel them for higher studies.
  • Organize coaching classes on CAT, TOEFL, GRE etc.
  • Organize and offer various programs on Personality Development, Soft Skills, and Communication Skills.
  • Organize Pre-Placement Training Programs and to enable students to showcase their skills during the Interview.
  • Invite companies/organizations for campus interviews and provide them with necessary facilities for conducting written tests, group discussion, technical and HR interviews, etc.
  • Arrange industrial visits for pre-final year and final year students.
  • Organize training for mock interviews, group discussions, experience sharing by eminent personalities, and business communication skills and conduct online/off- line tests on problem-solving and aptitude tests.
