Overview

The Road Safety Club at Malla Reddy College of Engineering (MRCE) is a dedicated initiative to promote and integrate road safety awareness into education and campus life. The club aims to cultivate responsible road behavior, inspire student-led safety innovations, and foster a deeper understanding of traffic regulations, sustainable mobility, and accident prevention. Through campaigns, training, and collaborations, the club works to build a culture of safety, discipline, and social responsibility among students and the community.

Vision

To emerge as a Center of Excellence in promoting road safety awareness and responsible mobility, nurturing proactive individuals who lead initiatives in traffic discipline, safety innovation, and community well-being on and beyond the campus.

Mission

M1: To provide a structured platform for learning and capacity-building in road safety, traffic regulations, and responsible mobility among students.
M2: To nurture innovative, evidence-based awareness programs and student-led initiatives that strengthens a culture of safe road behavior and accident prevention.
M3: To foster collaborations and MoUs with government agencies, industry, alumni, NGOs, and other institutions for joint road safety campaigns, training, and outreach.
M4: To promote high standards of ethical and responsible conduct on the road, encouraging students to serve as road safety ambassadors who model and advocate safe practices.

Core Objectives

To create sustained awareness on road safety, traffic rules, road signs, and the consequences of unsafe road behavior among students and staff.
To encourage safe practices including the use of helmets and seat belts, avoidance of mobile phone use while driving, and compliance with licensing and vehicle fitness norms.
To develop positive attitudes and behavioral change towards responsible driving, riding, and pedestrian conduct through continuous sensitization.

Key Activities

Organizing seminars, workshops, expert talks, and training sessions in association with traffic police and road safety organizations.
Conducting campaigns, rallies, Road Safety Week observances, and creative competitions such as poster-making, slogan-writing, and skits to engage students in advocacy.
Facilitating practical awareness measures on campus, such as promoting helmet and seat-belt compliance, and encouraging students to practice and propagate safe road usage.

Institutional and Social Role

The club supports the institution’s commitment to community engagement by extending road safety awareness beyond the campus through outreach programs and collaborative initiatives. It also provides a platform for leadership development, enabling students to plan, organize, and implement road safety interventions that contribute to safer roads and an accident-free environment.

Composition:

The Road Safety Club of the college is constituted with the following members for a period of two years. The Principal of the college or his nominee will be the Chairperson of the Cell.
