The Women Protection Cell (WPC) serves as a dedicated body to address issues related to women’s safety, rights, and empowerment, promoting a culture of respect and equality within the institution.
Objectives
- To provide a secure environment for women students, faculty, and staff members.
- To address and resolve grievances related to gender-based discrimination or harassment.
- To create awareness about women’s rights and foster gender sensitivity.
- To conduct programs that empower women and promote their personal and professional growth.
Key Activities
1. Ensuring Safety and Security:
- Regular safety audits on campus.
- Coordination with campus security to implement strict safety measures.
2. Grievance Redressal:
- Confidential handling of complaints related to harassment or discrimination.
- Prompt action and resolution in line with legal and institutional guidelines.
3. Awareness Campaigns:
- Workshops, seminars, and lectures on topics like gender equality, self-defense, and legal rights.
- Observing International Women’s Day and other events to celebrate and recognize the achievements of women
4. Skill Development Initiatives:
- Organizing training sessions to enhance leadership, communication, and technical skills.
- Mentoring programs to support personal and professional growth.
5. Collaboration with External Agencies:
- Partnerships with NGOs and legal bodies to provide additional resources and support.
- Inviting experts to conduct awareness sessions and provide legal counsel.
